DJEMAA EL-FNA SQUARE This main square of the city attracts tourists and locals throughout the day who can visit the stalls selling orange juice and water, as well as snake charmers, henna painting women or boys with monkeys. In the morning, at the pre-arranged time, the local guide will pick you up from your accommodation to begin a cultural tour of the most emblematic and touristic place in the city. The sites and attractions can be visited on foot, accompanied by an official city guide. The guided tour includes a visit to: The Koutoubia Mosque, one of the wonders of Almohad art located in the center of the city, where a stone mansion called “The Stone Palace” previously stood. Bahia Palace built in the 19th century as the sultan’s residence. Bahia means brilliant, in fact in the 19th century the Moroccans believed they had built the largest palace of all time. To get there, we will cross the Kasbah flea market, the Jewish quarter (Mellah), Souk Al-Nawad and Badia Square. The Saadian Tombs, one of the most visited places in Marrakech. These tombs date from the end of the 16th century and are located in an enclosed garden, accessible by a small path. After the entrance we find mausoleums of great beauty, decorated with mosaics, and various tombs that preserve the buried remains of the sultans, warriors and servants of the Saadi dynasty. During this tour we will enter the souk and also visit Madraza Ben YOUSSEF, built in the 16th century and one of the most important Koranic schools. Its students lived there in spartan cells while they completed their religious studies. The most beautiful part of the visit is the interior courtyard with its architecture and mosaics, in harmony with the central pool used for ablutions before prayers. Here, visitors will find extreme peace, having gone beyond the hustle and bustle of the Medina streets. And finally, the Jemaa El Fna square, which is the central square of Marrakech and the most important square in the city. It is the center of public life in Marrakech, day and night. The best thing about Jemaa El Fna Square is the transformation that takes place during the day.
