Jebel saghro trek - Megdaz Morocco

Day 1Marrakech – Ouzoud Waterfalls – Imi n'Ifri – Demnate – Tassaout Valley

Depart Marrakech in the morning toward the magnificent Ouzoud Waterfalls. Enjoy time to admire these impressive cascades and, if you wish, take a short walk to explore the surroundings. Continue your route toward Imi n’Ifri, a beautiful gorge area where you can do a short hike. Then head to Demnate, where you will have time to explore this charming town. In the afternoon you will arrive in the Tassaout Valley, surrounded by verdant landscapes and picturesque Berber villages, and settle in for the night.

Day 2Tassaout – Hike to Megdaz

Today, enjoy a hike to Megdaz, a picturesque village nestled in the mountains. Explore the trails that wind through spectacular scenery and admire the region’s natural beauty. You will also discover local culture by meeting residents and learning about their way of life. This day offers full immersion in Berber traditions and allows you to appreciate the surrounding landscape before returning to Tassaout for the night.

Day 3Tassaout – Ghesat – Kasbah Amiridl – Skoura

After breakfast, leave Tassaout for Ghesat, a traditional village. Next, visit Kasbah Amiridl, one of the best-preserved examples of southern Moroccan architecture. This kasbah will immerse you in local history and Berber culture. Continue your route to Skoura, a region celebrated for its kasbahs and palm groves. Upon arrival, settle into your accommodation and enjoy a relaxed evening in this picturesque setting.

Day 4Skoura – Kelaa Mgouna – Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Nkob

After breakfast, depart to discover Kelaa Mgouna, known for its rose production. Then head to the famous Dades Gorges, where you can explore vertiginous cliffs and enjoy breathtaking panoramas. Continue toward the Todra Gorges, another site of extraordinary natural beauty, and arrive in Nkob for the evening.

 
 

Day 5Nkob – Tazzarine – Entering the Saghro Massif – Start of Trek

After breakfast, depart Nkob and head toward Tazzarine, then continue to the edge of the Saghro massif. Begin your trek into the lunar, mineral landscapes of Saghro. Today’s walk will introduce you to the dramatic rock formations and wide-open spaces. Set up camp for the night in a scenic bivouac and enjoy the sunset over the massif.

Day 6Full Day Trekking in Saghro

Spend a full day trekking deeper into the Saghro massif. Explore narrow valleys, rocky passes, and hidden plateaus while your local guides share knowledge of the land and Berber traditions. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the trail and another night under the stars in a comfortable bivouac, experiencing the silence and vastness of this remote area.

Day 7Saghro – Return to Villages – Guesthouse Night - Agdz

Complete the final stage of the Saghro trek in the morning, then descend toward nearby villages. Meet local families, learn more about daily life, and relax in a guesthouse where you’ll enjoy a warm meal and a comfortable bed after several days in the wilderness.

Day 8Agdez – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Ounila Valley – Telouet – Marrakech

After breakfast, drive north through the scenic Draa Valley with its palm groves; make a guided stop at the UNESCO-listed ksar of Ait Ben Haddou for a visit and panoramic views, continue with short photo stops and a walk in the Ounila Valley to discover adobe villages, then visit Telouet Kasbah if accessible before crossing the Tizi n’Tichka pass for stunning mountain panoramas; arrive in Marrakech late afternoon or evening and transfer to your riad, organized by Amodo Tours.
